4,500 Attend The Mesilla Valley Outdoor Expo
Las Cruces, New Mexico - Hunters, fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts flocked to the Las Cruces Convention Center for the Mesilla Valley Outdoor Expo presented by the Las Cruces Sun News this past weekend. Nearly 100 booths filled up the Las Cruces Convention Center to showcase everything from fishing tackle and hunting gear to RV's, ATV's and much more.
"We were very fortunate to have nearly 4,500 attendees come through the doors this past weekend," Stated David Hicks, Global Spectrum's General Manager of the Las Cruces Convention Center. "There were many families that came out to the show to enjoy the interactive components of the Tactical Combat Laser Tag and the Trout Pond. It was an exciting weekend for all involved."
The show encompassed speakers regarding topics from elk hunting to RV life and from African Hunting to protecting the public lands. Interactive portions included a Laser Tag Course which drew in nearly 400 people to compete and over 250 people took advantage of the trout pond to try their luck at fishing.
Tink Jackson, one of the headline speakers at the Mesilla Valley Outdoor Expo and is a natural resource manager for the state of New Mexico stated, "I am very happy that I was able to do conduct seminars at this first year show. I was able to speak with many attendees who are excited to see what is in store for next year."
"This was by far the best show we have ever done. We have already signed up for next year." Said Monroe Roberts, owner of MR Guns.
The success of this year's show is attributed to the vendors who took a risk on a first year show, the sponsors who got behind the promotion and the attendees who showed their support and excitement for this genre of shows. Plans are already in the process for the 2014 Mesilla Valley Outdoor Expo.
