All of us at the magazine are pleased to announce that Doug Painter, former president and CEO of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and now a popular TV host and spokesperson, has joined Sporting Classics as an Associate Editor.
As much as our magazine is about great hunting and fishing stories, it's also about doing our part to preserve the sporting traditions that make those hunts and days on the water possible. In a career that spanned almost 40 years at NSSF, Painter spent a lifetime actively promoting the hunting and shooting sports and helping to ensure a strong voice for critical conservation and sportsmen's issues.
He will put that experience to good use in helping Sporting Classics develop industry partnerships that will further strengthen our outdoor heritage.
"Our industry," Painter said, "is unique in its passion and commitment to build for our future. I look forward to working with old friends and new ones to build not only corporate but our collective success as well."
Painter is an enthusiastic hunter of big game, upland birds and waterfowl. He is also a veteran fly fisherman and admits to having about as many fly rods as firearms. We welcome Doug onboard.
