Florida's Lake Woodruff NWR Holding Monthly Bird Walks
The weather is cooling down in Florida and birds are flying south. Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge is a favorite stopover and wintering spot for migratory waterfowl and birds. The Refuge will be sponsoring monthly Bird Walks on the fourth Wednesday of every month (except during December) with expert birders leading the walks. Bird Walks will be held on Nov. 28, Jan. 23, Feb. 27, Mar. 27 and April 24. Meet in the parking lot closest to the ponds using the Mud Lake entrance. The Bird Walks are free and no pre-registration is required. Dress comfortably, wear walking shoes, and bring binoculars if you have them.
