Falls of the Ohio SP hosts Earth Discovery Day
Falls of the Ohio State Park's Earth Discovery Day on Oct. 13 will highlight the geologic wonders of the property through activities and programs.

The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:50 p.m. and coincides with Earth Science Awareness Week and National Fossil Day.

Visitors can experience a 5.5- to 8.0-magnitude earthquake in the Indiana Geological Survey's Quake Cottage, take a guided tour of the park's fossil bed, dig for fossils and minerals in the park's collecting piles, learn about geology degrees from Indiana University, University of Kentucky and University of Cincinnati, participate in children's crafts with a geological theme, and more.

All activities are free with admission to the Interpretive Center. Admission costs $2 for ages 2-18 or $5 for ages 19 and older. or free with an annual Indiana State Parks & Reservoirs entrance pass.
