Kevin Wallenfang, big-game ecologist for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, reports on recent outbreaks of epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) in deer in four Wisconsin counties, the recent ceremonial harvest of a spike bull elk by the Wisconsin Ojibwe Tribes, plans for a possible elk hunting season in 2013 and the impact of the drought on deer.
