Conservation Group to Host Benefit Upland Bird Hunt
The Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) in conjunction with the Artic Bird Dog Association (ABDA) will host its annual two-day charity bird hunt at Wingshoot Alaska, LLC, Point McKenzie, AK on Saturday-Sunday, September 29-30, 2012, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day.
Proceeds from this charitable event will benefit the RGS "Under Broken Wing" program - an outreach program that provides physically challenged youngsters between the age of 14 and 18 an opportunity to experience the excitement of hunting upland game birds.
According to Derek Tomlinson, there are two ways you can support the program -- as a participant or a sponsor. Either way the cost is $25 per bird. Hunters are encouraged to bring their own dogs, but pointing and flushing breeds will be available at no cost for those who need one.
All participants will receive a briefing on gun and hunting safety upon arrival. Lunch will be available.
For more information and/or registration contact Tomlinson at 907-440-0790, or by e-mail at
