Deer Exchange Available for Archery Deer Hunters
LINCOLN, NE. - Archery deer hunters, whose season opens Sept. 15, now may sign up for the Deer Exchange Program. The program allows hunters to transfer venison to anyone willing to accept it.

On Nov. 10, archery and firearm hunters may begin offering field-dressed deer to the new Hunters Helping the Hungry Program. A list of participating meat processors will be available in October. Hunters then may keep using the Deer Exchange, as well.

For more information on Hunters Helping the Hungry and the Deer Exchange, including the differences in the programs, visit http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/hunting/programs/HHH/HHH-info.asp. While at the site, consider making a cash donation to Hunters Helping the Hungry that would go toward funding the program's deer processing costs.
