Etymotic Research Launches New Website

CHICAGO - Etymotic Research, an innovator in hearing loss prevention announces the launch of its new website for the GunSport•PRO line of high-definition electronic earplugs, www.TeamGunSportPro.com. Designed for hunters, guides, and recreational, tactical and professional shooters, GunSport•PROs are unique electronic earplugs that allow users to hear naturally as if nothing is in their ears, but protect against hearing damage caused by sudden impulse noise, such as blasts from firearms. An advanced integrated circuit and wide bandwidth improve listening clarity and allow wearers to hear their surroundings, either naturally or amplified, while protecting their ears from sudden blasts. This simultaneous protection and enhancement allows users to maintain auditory situational awareness and sustain verbal communication while hunting or shooting. Available in two models: The GunSport•PRO-1, priced at $449, allows natural or enhanced hearing until a blast occurs. The GunSport•PRO-15, priced at $499, has the same features as the GunSport•PRO-1, with the added benefit of 15-dB protection which activates automatically if continuous background noise reaches unsafe levels. Both can be purchased on the new website.

The GunSport•PRO product line is an extension of the original BlastPLGTM Earplugs, developed by Etymotic Research to improve situational awareness and mitigate hearing loss in deployed military personnel. Etymotic's BlastPLG Earplugs were honored with the inaugural Design and Engineering Innovations Award in the Health and Wellness category by the Consumer Electronics Association, and with the prestigious Safe-in-Sound Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention Award given jointly by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the National Hearing Conservation Association.
