Team ITI Brings Home Titles from USPSA Area 8 and NC State IDPA Championships

SHACKLEFORDS, VA - Team International Training, Inc. (ITI) members performed strongly this past weekend at the USPSA Area 8 Championship, held at the Fredericksburg R&P Club in Fredericksburg, VA August 9th - 12th, 2012, as well as the NC State IDPA Championship, held at the Watauga Gun Club IDPA in Boone, NC August 11th, 2012.

At the USPSA Area 8 match, Team Captain Brandon Wright finished 1st Master and 3rd Overall Production at 97%.

"I would like to thank the match director and all the staff at the Area 8 Championship. With the weather being a factor and lingering thunderstorms, they toughed it out for us competitors," remarked Wright. "I feel good about my performance at this match and look forward to the next opportunity to test my skills. Having trust in my equipment and ammunition allows me to focus on the stage at hand and execute my plan for success. Congratulations to my teammates for a stellar performance at the NC State IDPA match."

While Wright was competing at the Area 8 match, teammates Morgan Allen and Gary Byerly dominated the NC State IDPA Championships. Allen won his fourth straight ESP Division win and finished High Overall at this match while Byerly took 1st Master in the CDP Division and 3rd Overall.

"It's always a pleasure to shoot with friends and do well, especially in front of a home crowd. I'd like to thank the match Safety Officers and the crew for putting on this year's match," Allen said. "Without our volunteers, we'd not have events like this one. Congrats to my teammates Gary Byerly for his outstanding showing at this match, and the same to Brandon Wright for his finish at the Area 8 USPSA Championship."

"In visiting Watauga Gun Club for the last 10 years, I've come to expect beautiful scenery, friendly Safety Officers and unique stages. This year was no exception," commented Byerly. "Ten stages with 181 competitors made for an exciting day. With IDPA Nationals on the horizon, this was a great way to identify skill sets to concentrate on. Congratulations to my teammate Morgan Allen on his outstanding performance and to all the Division Champions at the NC State IDPA Championship."

About Morgan Allen:
It's hard to believe that Morgan Allen has only been shooting pistols since 2005, considering he has over 30 IDPA State and Regional Division Championship titles under his belt since 2007. Having moved up the ladder from an IDPA Novice to Master in only 14 months, Allen has also won six top-five Division finishes at IDPA National Championship matches. In 2011, he was chosen to be a member of the 2011 US Team at the IDPA World Championship. Allen is an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, as well as an IDPA Safety Officer, USPSA Range Officer and PPC Master.

About Gary Byerly:
Gary Byerly has been competing in IDPA matches for the past nine years and USPSA and 3-Gun matches for six years. He is an IDPA ESP and SSP Master, as well as a six-time IDPA State Champion. Byerly is a Master in Production and holds an "A" Classification in Open, Limited, Limited 10 and Single Stack in USPSA. Byerly is also a four time Area class winner and a one-time Area Champion.

About Brandon Wright:
Brandon Wright served four years as a Law Enforcement Officer and four years as a State Trooper in the Virginia State Police. In addition, Wright was a member of the local police department S.W.A.T. Team. Wright has over nine years of experience as a Firearms Instructor, which he puts into practice at G4S ITI as their Senior Firearms Instructor. He is an IDPA Master Class shooter in SSP, ESP, and CDP and holds a "Master" classification in USPSA Production.
