Jamestown, KY - "What if more and more parents, grandparents and kids around the country band together to create outdoor adventure clubs, family nature networks, family outdoor clubs, or green gyms? What if this approach becomes the norm in every community?"- Richard Louv, author and Chairman, Children & Nature Network. Join in each month as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery (NFH), in partnership with the Russell County Public Libraries, organizes year-round, regularly-scheduled nature outings to help the community spend more time connecting with nature and each other.
Established in 2010, Nature Rocks! Family Nature Club continues to extend the invitation to youth of all ages who share a common interest in the study and enjoyment of nature and conservation of natural resources. Meet others in your area with similar ages and interests as you participate in nature themed activities each meeting. Nature Rocks! Family Nature Club is open to anyone with a sense of curiosity and adventure, and no one is ever obligated to participate in more than they wish.
Monthly gatherings are held on the third Tuesday of each month from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. CST. Meeting locations will rotate between two locations: Russell County Branch Library and Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery. Pre-registration is NOT required and offered FREE of charge. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. A schedule of when, where and what theme is below.
