Safari Hunter Helps Readers Plan Their Own Safari
WACO, Texas - "Most of us are not like the hunters on the television hunting shows," author and safari hunter Kerry Thomas explains. "It is a very detailed business of planning and executing a hunt in South Africa." In his new book, Planning an African Safari: For The Everyday Working Man (published by Trafford Publishing), Thomas gives readers detailed information on planning their own African safari.

"For years I worked and saved, and saved and worked," Thomas explains. "I spent what felt like a lifetime waiting for the day that I might make my dream African safari come true. The information found here was gathered through my experiences in planning my two safaris over the past few years."

Within the pages of Planning an African Safari, Thomas takes readers by the hands and walks them through each step of the journey, from picking an outfitter to shipping their animals home. Readers are sure to feel empowered by the end and be more knowledgeable and confident knowing they have the tools to plan their own hunting trip.

"With the information I am providing, I will help you to avoid the many pitfalls that plague so many hunters as well as the overlooked details that can turn a trip of a lifetime into a nightmare. I am living proof that a safari is attainable for the everyday working man."

About the Author

Kerry Thomas spent two weeks traveling to South Africa in 2008 on his first safari. Over the next three years, he worked out the details with professional hunter Paul Stones for a second safari. On his return trip to hunt, he took along a videographer and gathered hours upon hours of footage, as well as thousands of photographs. Over the course of the next year, he produced a DVD on how to plan a safari for the budget-minded hunter. Currently, he works as a professional firefighter in the central Texas area. When he isn't working, he enjoys spending time with his family and teaching his sons about wildlife and nature. In his spare time, Thomas continues to film, photograph and write about his adventures in the wild.
