New Berlin, WI - (July 20, 2012) - Bowhunting bison can be arduous task at best, however; Tom Miranda, host of Territories Wild, makes it look effortless. Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American sportsman, is bringing viewers a captivating bison hunt on Territories Wild on Sunday, July 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The process is long and hard, but Miranda's patience pays off in epic fashion when he finds his target.
This wild bison hunt takes viewers to the Sikanny River area in British Columbia for a non-stop bison hunt that leaves audiences on the edge of their seats in anticipation. Miranda entrusts the assistance of a local outfitter to further educate him on the moving patterns of the herd. After several days of back and forth stalking, Miranda finally closes in on a "monster" bull from 30 yards and harvests a bison of a lifetime!
Miranda's harvest is number 27 of the North American Super Slam. The six day hunt produces a bison that weighs 1600 pounds.
The journey also offers an educational element as Miranda provides a snapshot history of Native Americans and their association with bison. The animal has many practical uses as the Native American culture continues to find invaluable to this day.
