Franklin, TN: Gun Writer, Author, and Collector, Garry James has signed on as an expert contributor to Shooting USA Television's History's Guns Series. Jim Scoutten, Executive Producer for Shooting USA Television programs, said, "Working with Garry is really a reunion for the two of us. We last worked together in 1994, in the first years of the gun shows appearing on ESPN. Back then, title was Guns & Ammo Presents American Shooter.
Garry James has spent his life writing and collecting, not only for his personal collection, but as the behind-the-scenes curator and advisor for to late Robert E. Petersen, as "Pete" amassed the world's largest and most significant personal firearms collection. The most prominent pieces of that collection are now on permanent display at the National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, Virginia.
Garry is now contributing his extraordinary knowledge and experiences to the production of History's Guns segments. Scoutten said, "I've just seen the first story to come out of editing, on the AK-47, which includes Garry's visit with Mikhail Kalashnikov at his Russian Dacha. You'll see that story the first week of August, with many more stories to come, benefiting from the extraordinary knowledge and opinions of Garry James.
