The Falls of the Ohio State Park Earth Day celebration on May 12 will appeal to children and adults, with activities ranging from a "Silly Safari" animal show to learning about using solar energy and efficient lighting in homes.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park's interpretive center. Admission to the park on May 12 is free, courtesy of Jamey Aebersold Jazz.
The Earth Day Celebration will include dozens of exhibitors, food, crafts, kids activities, kite flying, bicycle giveaways, picture taking with Smokey Bear and Emerald Ash Beetle, and Junk Genius robots made from recycled toys.
Environmental groups will share ideas for being good stewards of the Earth, and local businesses will demonstrate Earth-friendly products and activities.
The first 400 visitors will receive free tree seedlings.
