Ronald Regan was the President, the Minnesota Twins won the World Series, Texaco went broke and earthquakes shocked Los Angeles. The year was 1987 and besides these memorable moments in history, big things were happening in Wyoming. Mike Eastman and his wife, Bertie, embarked on a mission to create a publication specifically geared toward Western big game hunting and looked to forever change the hunting publication industry. With their brand new Macintosh 512K computer, they laid the groundwork for what has become the original resource for Western big game hunters.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Eastmans' Hunting Journal. Even after 25 years and hundreds of thousands of readers from every corner of the United States and overseas, the Eastmans have never let go of their humble beginnings in northwest Wyoming. Over the years there were plenty of hard times for Mike, Bertie, and their family, struggling to keep the magazine going, especially in the early years, but they pushed on.
With Mike's sons, Guy and Ike, at the helm today, the magazine's numbers have never been higher and it's a testament to just how much work Mike and Bertie endured over the past 25 years. We just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to each and every one of our subscribers and advertisers who've made this company what it is today. Because of you, we're proud to say we are "The Original Resource for Western Big Game Hunting" and we look forward to the next 25 years.
