Hancock and McGrath to Appear at Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation at SHOT

Shelby Township, Mich. - The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) announced their line up of activities for the 2011 SHOT Show today. SSSF has ramped up their efforts this year to provide SHOT Show attendees and members of the media with several opportunities to learn more about the SSSF program and interact with key members of the SSSF Team. SSSF will be exhibiting in Booth L-249.

SSSF is pleased to announce that two of their brightest superstar celebrity shooters will be representing them at this year's SHOT Show. Vincent Hancock, the 2008 Men's Skeet Shooting Olympic Gold Medalist, and Jon Michael McGrath, the reigning Men's World Skeet Shooting Champion, will be on hand to take photos and sign autographs as well as to share how the SCTP program has enriched their lives and helped them achieve their goals in the Shooting Sports. The SSSF Staff welcomes SHOT Show attendees and media members to stop by their booth and find out more about the Leader in Youth Shooting Sports, the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation.

SSSF will be holding a press conference on Thursday, January 20th from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. in the SHOT Show press conference room located on Level 3 of the Expo Center. Representatives from SSSF will be on hand to talk about new developments for the upcoming year as well as to announce the dates for 2011 SCTP National Championships. All outdoor media members are invited to attend and register to WIN a Remington 870 Express Shotgun that will be given away to one lucky winner at the end of the show.

SSSF is sponsoring the Mississippi SHOT Breakfast, which is being held on Wednesday, and Thursday morning from 8 to 10 am and representatives from SSSF will be on hand to talk to the media attending.

About Vincent Hancock

At twelve years old Vincent Hancock told his father that he wanted to win Olympic Gold someday and a few short years later that is exactly what he did. The twenty-one year old Georgia native won an Olympic Gold medal in Skeet Shooting in Beijing, China in 2008. Hancock has racked up an impressive collection of titles and awards including 2005 USA Shooting Male Athlete of the Year and International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Shooter of the Year to name a few. Recently he was named to the 2011 World Clay Target Championship Team. Hancock is employed as a member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) and lives in Fort Benning, Georgia with his wife and daughter.

About Jon Michael McGrath

Oklahoma's Jon Michael McGrath has more shooting experience and titles compared to shooters twice his age, titles such as 2010 Junior Gold Medalist at the World Shooting Championship and 2010 National Junior Olympic Championship Gold Medalist most recently. McGrath was also named as a member of the 2011 World Clay Target Championship Team. McGrath is currently a freshman at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.
