LITTLE ROCK, AR -The Future Fisherman Foundation (F3) announces the launch of its new "Fishing for Change" program, which provides an exciting opportunity for businesses to partner with the nonprofit foundation to help ensure the future of fishing through nationwide youth education programs.
The way the program works is simple. Companies that have a website where customers can order products create a click-through interface that allows the customer to make a voluntary donation to F3 after totaling up their purchase. Customers can either round up their purchase price to the next whole dollar amount and donate the difference, or add a whole-dollar donation of their choosing by clicking a button that shows that amount.
"Our partner, TTI-Blakemore Fishing Group, was the first to set up the program on their website,
www.tticompanies.com," said F3 Executive Director Keith Sutton. "TTI was proud to be the first test site to support F3 programs such as Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs and Physh Ed. Several additional partners now have enabled Fishing for Change donations on their websites as well, including Kid's Katch (
www.kidskatch.com), a company that sells a wide variety of outdoor education products to help children discover the outdoors; Independent Tackle (
www.independenttackle.com), an online tackle retail store that sells products from small tackle manufacturers; Bass Assassin Lures (
www.bassassassin.com), a family-owned and operated soft-plastic fishing lure manufacturer; and Vicious Fishing (
www.vicious-fishing.com), manufacturer of Vicious Fishing Line and other branded products."
"We believe that fishing needs to be introduced to today's youth for the good of the sport we love," said Mike Stover, owner of Independent Tackle. "That's why we've partnered with the Future Fisherman Foundation. We hope our customers will show their support by making a donation."
The expense incurred by companies participating in Fishing for Change is relatively small-just the cost of setting up the checkout/donation tracking interface on the company website and administering donations. Support comes primarily from customers who make voluntary donations in an amount of their choosing.
"Companies that participate in Fishing for Change have the satisfaction of knowing their support helps the Future Fisherman Foundation continue a 24-year tradition of delivering quality fishing education programs to children nationwide," said F3 Board Chair Kerry Campbell. "Money donated through the program will allow us to provide training and curriculum for educators who deliver our programs; to develop special events to share outdoor aquatic education with the public; and to expand our efforts to reach disadvantaged children who need positive activities and caring mentors in their lives. Funding will go directly toward providing valuable opportunities for children to learn how to fish and enjoy the outdoors."
