ZEISS Victory DiaScope 85 T* FL Wins International Design Award

CHESTER, VIRGINIA - The new Victory DiaScope 85 T* FL spotting scope from Carl Zeiss has been named winner of the coveted red dot design award for product design. With more than 4,000 entries from almost 60 countries, the red dot design award is one of the world's most renowned and largest design competitions.

"All products honored with the red dot design award had to impress an international jury. These products stand out as a result of their excellent designs and innovative approaches, which enable them to demonstrate their quality in one of the toughest design competitions in the world," says design expert Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator of the award.

The Victory DiaScope 85T* FL impressed the jury with its outstanding technology and functional design: the robust, waterproof housing is protected by black rubber armoring but is still compact and lightweight. The new, innovative Dual Speed Focus (DSF) system now allows ultra- precise and fast focusing with only one focus wheel so users no longer need to change their grip. In addition, the DiaScope's FL lens system is engineered to produce superior image quality - extremely detailed, sharp, brilliant, true-color images, even in challenging lighting and weather situations. The new DiaScope also features an advanced stray light reduction system which virtually eliminates contrast-reducing stray light and is available with the new Vario 20-75x eyepiece for unprecedented perfection in nature and wildlife observation at multiple distances. The ZEISS camera adaptor also makes it quick and easy to take digital photographs through the DiaScope.

"We are very pleased to win another red dot design award and appreciate the jury's recognition of our continued efforts to build the finest optics in the world," said Erik Schumacher, president of Carl Zeiss Sports Optics.

In addition to the ZEISS Victory DiaScope, the PhotoScope 85 T* FL, Victory 8x45 and 10x45 RF binoculars with integrated laser rangefinder and the Victory 8x32 and 10x32 FL binoculars have all received the red dot design award in recent years.
