Beach Party and Murder Mystery April 23-25
It is possible to plan a beach trip and party for spring break in West Virginia. It includes viewing a famous waterfall on a morning sunrise walk. "It's a fun filled weekend getaway at one of the Mountain state's favorite parks, Blackwater Falls," says Lois Reed, Lodge Manager. "Since we're land locked, we decided to bring the beach to the park. We're ready for spring!"

Blackwater Falls State Park in Davis is sponsoring a Beach Party Weekend on April 23 - 25. The weekend includes a beach party Friday evening at the lodge with dancing and Karaoke. Saturday evening features a dinner theater, "Beach Blanket Bump-Off," starring the In Cahoots Players. Sunday breakfast is special with cast and crew sharing the meal with guests.

"Beach Blanket Bump-Off" is directed by West Virginia's own Karen Vuranch. "Murder mysteries are always fun when this group brings it to the table at dinner theaters," said Reed. "The Friday evening dance and Karaoke is a warm up for Saturday's main event, a murder mystery."

When the lights lower, guests will be sitting at The Lost Parrot Bar where Karuna Kahuna operates her laid back beach bar. She has a group of singers and entertainers lined up for the beach (park) guests. But, as usual, there's trouble washing into this tropical paradise and one of the players finds danger lurking. "Someone may be swimming with the fishes by dinner's end." Dinner attendees will solve the mystery and help bring a murderer to justice. "It's all in fun," says Andrea Fout-Tinsley, one of the In Cahoots players, who will not divulge "who dun-it."

The weekend package includes lodging Friday and Saturday at Blackwater Falls Lodge, Saturday dinner and murder Mystery Theater for two, and breakfast Sunday morning. The rate is $299 per package for two. There are options for Friday or Saturday only packages in the lodge, cabin rates for two nights, and for dinner and murder mystery only. Dinner and Mystery Theater only is $40 per person.

Reed's organization of a beach themed party in April is a good transition from what has been a very snowy winter in Tucker County into spring months. "We're craving a little summertime and we're bringing the beach to Blackwater. It's going to be a 'fun-in-the-sun thinking' weekend."
