PERRY, Mich. - Wolf Creek Productions is proud to announce a new business development in downtown Deer City USA. Cabela's, the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, has signed on as a sponsor of the Deer City USA TV program.
"We are gratified beyond words to have the hands-down leader in the outdoor retail world choosing to sponsor Deer City USA," said Steve Gruber, host of the new hit series Excalibur's Deer City USA, and president of Wolf Creek Productions.
Cabela's joins a stable of marquee sponsors already appearing on Wolf Creek's seven nationally syndicated shows, but Gruber could not say enough about how important the new deal is.
"Let's be honest, Cabela's is the gold standard, and that says everything I need to know about Deer City USA," he said
Deer City USA debuted on Outdoor Channel in July. It airs Thursday nights at 7:30 Eastern. The show has taken off in the ratings and already has become a fan favorite and leading contender for best new series of 2009. Deer City USA focuses primarily on hunting urban settings for giant whitetails. Hosts Steve Gruber and Tom Nelson spend time in backyards and along busy streets looking for the elusive big-city bucks.
"We have been impressed with how fresh Deer City USA is and how it has connected with so many hunters around the country," said Kurt Kaiser , marketing manager for Cabela's. "The show is the first really new take on deer hunting in many years and it appeals to a large number of Cabela's core customers, the dedicated deer hunters who tune in every Thursday."
"I think we connect with the hunting public because we don't take ourselves too seriously and, the fact is, most of us have driven past huge bucks thinking 'too bad I can't hunt in town,' when, in reality, there is a very good chance you can," Gruber said. "Deer numbers are growing all over and many bucks have the chance to get really big in town because of limited hunting pressure. The fact is the terrain for hunting record-book whitetails is changing. You don't have to hunt a huge farm in the middle of nowhere. Like my dad always said, to kill the big buck, you have to hunt where he lives. He lives in Deer City USA!"
