Benelli On Assignment Goes After South Dakota Pheasant

ACCOKEEK, MARLAND - This week BOA host Joe Coogan and outdoor writer, John Barsness head to chilly South Dakota for some hot-barreled, late-season pheasant action. They meet up with good friends, Cliff Woerner and Tony Allen at Firesteel Creek Lodge, located in classic wild pheasant country that's also home to plentiful sharptails and Hungarian partridges. Impressive dog work locates plenty of birds for explosive flushing-action. Combining the old with the new, the shooters use a selection of guns and gauges, including Benelli's high-tech 12-gauge SuperNova pump shotgun, Stoeger's classic 28-gauge side-by-side Uplander shotgun, and Benelli's slim, quick-swinging 20-gauge Montefeltro. Barsness has no trouble completing his assignment for an upcoming article appearing in the November 2009 issue of Guns Magazine.
