RMEF Seeks Hunting Heritage Program (R3) Manager

Job Summary:
This position provides program management for tasks related to RMEF’s Hunting Heritage granting programs including Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (R3) programs. The incumbent will be responsible for tracking and evaluating funded programs and projects as well as developing relationships with grantees to insure compliance with RMEF strategic goals and objectives.  Representing RMEF in various national and regional activities surrounding R3 will be another responsibility. Essential Functions:

  1. Participate in the creation and distribution of digital content for use on all RMEF digital channels and organizational needs as directed by supervisor. Work with all departments to generate effective and relevant content representative of RMEF, our mission and brand.
  2. Review, monitor, evaluate and recommend for funding new and current hunting heritage programs that RMEF may support.
  3. Work cooperatively with other partners including state and federal agencies and other NGO’s to further national R3 efforts.
  4. Work closely with grantees to insure compliance with RMEF policies and procedures.
  5. Evaluate program activities to ensure they are consistently delivered in accordance with program guidelines and that customers are having a positive experience and program objectives are met.  Suggest revisions to projects as appropriate.
  6. Leverage partners to ensure budget efficiency in support of overall program.
  7. Analyze and extrapolate data for evaluation and improvement of program and project effectiveness.
  8. Assist with planning, forecasting and management of fiscal budgets related to the Hunting Heritage Program.
  9. Communicate and report program outcomes to various internal and external partners.  
  10. Attend key programs on site and develops relationships with grantees and other program leaders.
  11. Working closely with other RMEF team members, ensure grant data is tracked and accurately entered into the RMEF data base.
  12. Working closely with other RMEF team members, assist with entry, evaluation, and analysis of State Grant Program data. 
  13. Represent RMEF at regional and national R3 meetings.
  14. Provide basic administrative support for the R3 programs.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a natural resources or a related field and three to five years of related experience demonstrating knowledge of hunting and fishing recruitment programs, natural resource  management, shooting sports, and hunting.  Must have experience in plan writing, project administration and reporting. Must be a certified hunter education instructor (or gain certification w/in six-months of hire date).
 
 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  1. Knowledge and support of the RMEF’s mission, goals, and activities, and ability to discuss them with staff, board, volunteers, members, prospective and current donors, and other outside parties.
  2. Knowledge of state, federal and NGO R3 programs.
  3. Knowledge of national R3 evaluation tools. 
  4. Must have the ability to work with a variety of individuals with different backgrounds.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  Must be able to present to large groups.
  6. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks with conflicting deadlines.
  7. Must be detailed oriented and be able to process tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  8. Must be flexible when dealing with priorities and people.
  9. Must have a high customer service ethic.
  10. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.  Must have database experience.  Knowledge with GIS is preferred.
  11. Must present self in a professional manner.
  12. Must be able to work independently on assigned projects and to work as a respectful team member. 
  13. Knowledge of hunting and hunting laws, regulations, and hunting methods.


Physical Demands:
The employee must sit or stand for long periods of time; use a computer terminal; reach forward and to the side; bend from both standing and sitting position; and lift items of light and medium weight.  Evening work and weekend work may be required.  Some travel including overnight and weekend travel will be required.
