Hamilton County Fox Archery Hosts Illinois S3DA 3D Regional Event

Williamsburg, KY – On April 16th, 2022, Hamilton County Fox Archery hosted an Illinois 3D Regional at the Rend Lake Archery Complex in Whittington, Illinois. Nearly 100 archers from eleven S3DA teams across the state gathered to compete. Illinois Regional Coordinator, Donnie Millenbine stated, “Everyone was ready to get back on the 3D range! We had a brand-new team in attendance with a lot of kids. All the kids had a blast, and the range was set up beautifully. There were some amazing scores, so with the season just getting started, it looks like it is going to be a great year. Super proud to represent Illinois S3DA and see the program thriving.”

Hamilton County Fox Archer Cohen White said, “I had a really good time, and I enjoyed the 3D course. I shot my personal best score, so I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season.”

Hamilton County Fox Archery Head Coach, Kevin Clark stated, “Despite the muddy conditions, the turnout was great. I would like to thank Rend Lake for allowing us the opportunity to use their facility. We want to thank Holy Grounds Coffee and Deep South Barbecue for providing concessions. We have a lot of volunteers, parents, coaches, and many more that do a lot for these kids. We have a strong archery family.”

If there are any kids that are interested in archery, love the outdoors, and like challenging themselves in a competitive sport, the Illinois S3DA program can provide you that. There are options to compete locally (within the state) and then nationally. Any Illinois S3DA representatives would be happy to help you with signing up to become a member. About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of youth archers.
