QUWF Establishes an Endowment with College of the Ozarks for Future Wildlife Leaders

Buffalo, MO: “One of the pillars of solid conservation and wildlife management is to ensure we have the best educated and grounded individuals we can find for the future management of our resources. The leaders of tomorrow. This is a unique energy, a passion and faith of a lifestyle in the outdoors that is founded in a common spirit and honed with the right education and environment of true learning, respect of country and traditions, not indoctrination” declares Craig Alderman, Founder of QUWF. “We have searched long and hard to find the right opportunity to help our future leaders and we have found a home run with College of the Ozarks” Craig explains.

“Thanks to contributions from our QUWF Chapters across the country and a few forward-thinking farm/landowner families, we have established the initial opening endowment of $10,000.00 to assist all future students at the college obtain a debt free degree in Conservation and Wildlife Management” Alderman reveals. The college is known as “Hard Work U” because students enrolled there, have their education paid for as they work for the entire 4 years at the college, and its facilities.

Still more impressive is the ranking of the college as the number 1 Small Christian College in the U.S. with a focus on good citizenship, faith, the respect and honoring of our veterans and their sacrifices for this country, respect of the flag and what it stands for and understanding the exceptionalism of the United States.

“Our vision is to develop citizens of Christ-like character who are well-educated, hardworking and patriotic” said Natalie Rasnick, Dean of Development for the College. “As a child of parents of a very small Missouri farm, and a very grateful graduate of this College, I can personally attest without this opportunity many rural youth like myself would not have the dream of a quality college education fulfilled” Rasnick observes. “The College of the Ozarks relies heavily on private donations. Therefore, it is organizations like QUWF, a hands on, Turn-the-dirt company, who stepped up to the challenge of helping our deserving students and institution. Through QUWF’s generosity, we can shape the best conservation leaders who have a strong moral compass and sense of country. Further, we are delighted and are proud to work with the only veteran founded and managed national conservation organization in the country” Natalie said.

QUWF and its chapters, supporters and sponsors will continue to add to and grow the QUWF Endowment and seek to further assist Conservation and Wildlife students with additional yearly scholarships for books and expenses as they follow them through the education process.

The Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation (QUWF), based in Buffalo, is the only Veteran founded and managed national conservation organization in the U.S., and the only multi-specie and clean stream national organization based in Missouri.
