Florida FWC Biologist Killed in Boat Crash

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has identified the employee who was killed in a boat crash along the C-51 canal in Palm Beach County this week.

Fisheries biologist Dana Katz, 29, of Hypoluxo lost her life when an FWC boat she was on collided with a concrete piling in the canal near Congress Avenue and Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach on Tuesday.

Two other civilian employees were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The two injured employees remain in stable condition, per FWC. An investigation is being conducted by the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office Marine Unit.
