PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla.– “Chasin’ The Sun,” the original television series produced by Visit Panama City Beach, has been awarded nine 2019 Telly Awards, including four Silver and five Bronze titles in the television categories of Nature/Wildlife, Sports and Cinematography. These awards as well as the full list of 40th Annual Telly Awards winners were announced on May 21, 2019.
“The Telly Awards are one of the highest honors for video and television content, and we are thrilled that ‘Chasin’ The Sun’ received these prestigious awards,” says Visit Panama City Beach President and CEO Dan Rowe. “A lot of hard work has been poured into the creation and filming of this show since its debut in 2016, and it is wonderful to see the show’s talented team of directors, producers and hosts be recognized in this profound way.”

The Telly Awards, established in 1979, receive over 12,000 video and television entries from all 50 states and five continents. Submissions are judged by The Telly Awards Judging Council, a group of over 200 leading industry experts from advertising agencies, production companies and major television networks. From branded content to social video, VR to commercials, the 2019 award winners celebrate stories made for every screen.
Originally debuting on Sportsman Channel in 2016, “Chasin’ The Sun” moved to Destination America and NBC Sports Network for its second season. The show then transitioned to Discovery Chanel for its third, fourth and soon-to-launch fifth season, to premiere in January 2020 with 13 all-new episodes hosted by Capt. Justin Leake and Capt. Travis Holeman.
