Indiana: Bark Walk at Fort Harrison SP

Walk the dog at Fort Harrison’s annual Cowboy Bob and Wrangler Gail Bark Walk, Sept. 30.

This non-competitive walk will start at the Harrison Trace with two distance options: a mile or a 5K. Registration starts at 1:30 p.m., and participants can check in at the Reddick Picnic Shelter. The event will run from 2 to 4 p.m.

Walkers will have access to pet-friendly booths and programming before and after the walk. Prize drawing for registrants will be conducted after the walk. Participants must be present to win.

Cost for the first dog is $30, and each additional dog is $10. Proceeds will go toward pet-friendly projects at Fort Harrison State Park and its dog park.

Cowboy Bob, who died in 2016, was an Indiana TV legend known for being an animal advocate and dog lover. His wife and sidekick, Wrangler Gail, will attend the event.

Those interested can register at innsgifts.com or in person the day of the event. Each registrant will receive an event T-shirt and a collapsible dog bowl. Additional items will be available for purchase but supplies are limited.
