Hornady® congratulates sponsored shooter, Doug Koenig, for his performance at the NRA Action Pistol/Bianchi World Championship, October 17-25, 2025, in Hamilton, New Zealand.
Koenig won both the New Zealand Nationals and the World Championship shooting Hornady 38 cal. 110 gr. XTP® bullets in his 38 Super. He finished the Nationals with a perfect score of 1920 179 X’s and the World Championship with a perfect score of 1920 and an X-count of 182 X’s. He was the only competitor to shoot a perfect score.
“When competing against the best in the world, accuracy and consistency is everything!” said Koenig. “When shooters and their equipment are getting better, it’s more important now than ever that you have the best to compete with. That’s why I’ve trusted and used Hornady for nearly 20 years, and the 110 XTP helped me win my 8th World Action Pistol Championship,” he added.
The XTP bullet demonstrates the kind of accuracy that led many competitive shooters to adopt it. Reliable performance makes the XTP the most popular handgun bullet for both target shooters and hunters. It’s the stopping power of the XTP bullet that has truly built its world-class reputation. From the onset, XTP bullets were specifically designed to expand reliably at a wide range of handgun velocities to deliver deep penetration with every shot.
