TOURNAMENT REACHES MAXIMUM REGISTRATION ENTRIES WEEKS AHEAD OF THE START DATE
EVANSVILLE, IN – Cajun Bowfishing will host its fifth annual Cajun 8 Limited Bowfishing Tournament Saturday, August 10 through Sunday, August 11 at Angel Mounds State Historic Site in Evansville, Indiana. With a maximum entry of 80 teams, the tournament has already sold out weeks ahead of the tournament start date.
“Our Cajun 8 Tournament is known for being one of the best run bowfishing tournaments around, and I think that has a lot to do with why we’ve already reached our 80 boat limit,” says Dave Parker, Bear Archery General Manager. “Not to mention, the winning team will take home $10,000 and potentially up to an additional $2,000 in Cajun bonus money. That’s not bad for a weekend of bowfishing.”
The Cajun bonus money is given to the top three finishers’ team members who shoot Cajun equipment during the tournament. The bonus is based on $250 per bow, up to 4 bows, and $250 per reel, up to 4 reels for $2,000 max.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top ten finishing teams:
1ST - $10,000 (+$2K Cajun Bonus)
2ND - $5,000 (+$2K Cajun Bonus)
3RD - $3,000 (+$2K Cajun Bonus)
4TH - $2,000
5TH - $1,250
6TH - $750
7TH - $600
8TH - $400
Additional prizes will be awarded to teams with the heaviest fish in five categories: Heaviest Asian Carp, Heaviest Grass Carp, Heaviest Buffalo Carp, Heaviest Common Carp, and Heaviest Gar. Prizes will include a Bear Divergent compound bow from Bear Archery, Trophy Ridge accessory package, wheels from Discount Tires, and much more.
Although registration is closed, spectators are invited to join in the fun on Saturday, August 11 and Sunday, August 11 at Angel Mounds State Historic Site in Evansville, Indiana. Guests can enjoy free food, games, and vendors including Tactacam Action Cameras and Andalusia Marine and Power Sports will be exhibiting.
