Indiana: Mounds SP hosts photo and poetry contest

You can show your love of Mounds State Park through your creative talent by participating in a photo and poetry contest.

Photos must be taken in Mounds State Park. Categories include people, plants, animals and park scenery. There is also a youth category for those ages 15 and younger for photos and poems.

Poem entries must be about nature. A 32-line limit applies. Poets should submit their work ready for display.

Anderson artists and community members will judge the entries. The park will showcase entries at a gallery-style event on March 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. Winning contestants will receive prizes.

Entries will be accepted until March 16.

Entry forms are available at the park office or via email request at kmorgan1@dnr.IN.gov. Entries must be mailed or dropped off at the park, along with a $1 per-item entry fee. Email submissions and entries without payment will not be accepted.

Photos will become property of Mounds State Park and may be displayed on a rotating basis throughout the year in the nature center. Entries will not be returned.

Mounds State Park (on.in.gov/moundssp) is at 4306 Mounds Road, Anderson, 46017.
