Leupold Hiring Key Account Managers

Positions Available Throughout All US Sales Territories

Job Summary:

In this role you’ll develop and manage the implementation of strategies for marketing and selling the Company’s products to key channel partners: national accounts, distributors, and buy groups. You’ll oversee the development and execution of strategic sales programs for your accounts and collaborate with sales leadership to meet the Company’s revenue and profitability targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieving and exceeding monthly and annual territory sales targets, contribution margin goals and managing expenses within set budgets.
  • Executing brand enhancing and profit generating programs with accounts by utilizing KAMP – Key Account Management Process.
  • Leading the development and on-going management of multi-level relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
  • Leading strategically developed, account specific sales forecasting, planning and order generating activities. Participating in research, development, and execution of short and long range sales and marketing plans.
  • Coordinating with Marketing and Product Line Managers to optimize customer product offerings that are regionally and seasonally relevant.
  • Providing input into the development and implementation of promotional campaigns, product presentations and customer trainings.
  • Participating in market research to understand customer and consumer needs to support development of account plans and marketing strategies.
  • Maintaining up to date understanding of industry trends, technical developments, and government regulations that affect target markets.
  • Managing account base P&L with focus on long-term return on investment.
  • Assists US Commercial Sales leader in managing overall sales and team activities and is seen as a leader in the group.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field required. And 10+ years of previous sales and/or customer service experience supporting a progressively larger client base. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeded revenue targets while demonstrating an ability to sell and market across product categories
  • Significant national or international retail experience. 3+ years supervisor or leadership experience. Extensive experience working with representative agency groups and effectively leveraging their capabilities with customers.
  • Significant knowledge of shooting sports, hunting, firearms, and associated optical applications.
  • Well developed and extensive network of external contacts and customer interfaces in the markets where the company sells products is high desired
  • Experience with enterprise-level sales and executive relationship management
  • Significant experience with promotional planning, including seasonal events, training and scheduling.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to develop, understand and use sales data and metrics to develop account strategies.
  • Excellent verbal /written communication and interpersonal skills. Strong presentation skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, decision making, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).

Other Job Requirements:

You’ll need to have the ability to establish a home office and work remotely. This role requires frequent travel within territories up to 50%, to the L&S Corporate Office, and to national, trade and consumer events. You’ll need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs, have a good driving record, and be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
