Now, for 2019, NovX is expanding their advanced, high-performance ammunition line with the introduction of additional pistol applications. In addition to its heralded 9mm Luger +P, NovX will unveil the following innovative cartridges at this year's SHOT show:
NovX ammo is designed to exceed the performance of conventional brass-and-lead ammunition in several critical areas, including velocity, kinetic energy, weight, recoil, and terminal impact characteristics on soft targets and hard barriers. This is due to the groundbreaking material and design elements comprising NovX cartridges.
One of the key note features of the NovX engineered frangible projectiles is that they are precision-formed from a poly/copper matrix that is lighter than standard copper-jacketed lead bullets. This not only provides a significant weight reduction in carry mode but also delivers higher velocities (and greater downrange energy) with noticeably reduced recoil for quicker target reacquisition.
These engineered frangible projectiles are offered in standard round-nose profiles for target and training use, or in the ballistically-matched Engagement: Extreme self-defense profile. Both the self-defense and target projectiles are designed to ensure projectile integrity when penetrating objects such as windshields, steel doors, and wood, yet pulverize on impact with hardened objects like steel, concrete, and stone. Furthermore, the Engagement: Extreme engineered frangible projectiles feature a unique fluted profile that delivers both hydrostatic shock as well as dynamic fluid displacement. The result is devastating impact in soft mediums that far surpasses that of standard defensive rounds.
Another technological advance in NovX handgun ammunition is the specialized dual-metal cartridge case. NovX pistol ammo utilizes a nickel-alloy stainless-steel casing for reduced weight, added strength, higher velocities/propellant efficiencies, and more precise alignment than conventional brass. This combines with a nickel-plated aluminum base for a break-through cartridge design that enhances the fundamental performance points of defensive ammunition.
The all-new NovX rifle ammunition also takes the innovation lead over conventional brass-case ammo in popular tactical rifle chamberings. As with the NovX pistol ammo the 5.56/.223, .300 Blackout, and 7.62/.308 WIN features bi-metal construction. The rifle case is made of nickel-alloy stainless-steel but utilizes a strong steel base for pressure management. NovX is expanding to include lead free CNC precision machined solid copper petal bullets in their premium rifle lineup.
