Grant, Alabama's Jordan Lee has won the 2017 Bassmaster Classic on Lake Conroe, weighing a total three-day catch of 56 pounds, 10 ounces.

Lee,one of the new generation of professional bass anglers, won the Carhartt Bassmaster College Championships in 2013 before moving into the Bassmaster Elite series. With Sunday's win and $300,000 first place check, he nearly doubled his total earnings as a professional angler.

In thirty-seventh place after a Day One five-fish total of only 8 pounds, 9 ounces, Lee roared back with 21 pounds on Saturday and the biggest bag of the tournament, 27 pounds, 4 ounces after Sunday's final round, to take the Bassmaster Classic title.

Fellow Alabamian Steve Kennedy's 55 pound, 10 ounce total was good enough for second place, ahead of final day leader Brent Earlier, who faltered, finishing third.

James Elam, Ott DeFoe, Michael Iaconelli, Bradley Roy, Bobby Lane Jr., Jared Lintner and four-time Classic champ Kevin VanDam rounded out the top 10.

2016 Classic Champion Edwin Evers finished in eleventh place.
